What is it you want your life to look like?

How many times have I ask my self this one question and depending on where I am in my life at the time I give myself different answers. I have always known I wanted to be in business, I was not sure what type but that spoke clearly to me years ago.

I found myself in nursing over 25 years ago as a young girl looking for stable job. Work was hard, busy, and the supervisors were not always nice. I worked a schedule that fit someone’s needs and most of the time it was not mine.

The day I got really clear about business was the moment I realized I had worked most of my life when my family were doing other things. I missed most family cookouts and many celebrating events due to working my shift.

I spent the weekend Mara Glazer, social media strategist who has created a buzz around her business in the last year that completely sets her apart from many online trainers. Her focus and clear instruction were refreshing to learn.

Guest speakers Pat Mussieux,Jen Groover, Heidi Klotzman, Monica Shah, Scott , Deb Bernedt all spoke and trained on how they began their business and at what point they started… Ground zero.

We each get to decide what you want your life to look like, you only get one shot at this life, this is not a trial run it is a one time event. Decide for yourself  what you want to do. If you are asking someone else permission how to live your life you may want to stop and think about that too. Why are you asking them?

Money is always a concern and always will be until you believe you can attract more of it in your life. Learning how to be more than where you are right now is possible but it takes skills that you can learn if you are willing to working with someone to guide you.

Most people tell me they can read books and watch someone else. However if that was true you would have already made those changes in your life. Trust me…I would have it was that easy.

Sunday night as I sat by the Baltimore Maryland Harbor eating stinky crabs, and shrimp drinking beer in a open bay restaurant with my Canada friend Dr Peg gy Malone listening to a solo musician  play music on his guitar singing some up beat songs that we sang along too. Then I realized how much my life has changed.

Over the last few years I have traveled to events to learn more about business and get connected with people who already knew what I wanted to learn. I have spend thousands of dollars getting to the place I am inPeg and Angela 225x300 What is it you want your life to look like? my business and have more to learn. I had someone email a few days ago that said “I am disappointed in you…” and she gave her reasons why …”because you are nurse trying to leave the people who need you the most.” When I first read those words I felt it sting just a little. Then I got rather irritated that someone said that to me whom I have never met in person and has no idea the goals I have in my life. I smiled when I hit the delete and block button. What she doesn’t know is “I Act like a Nurse THINK like an Entrepreneur. That is who I am.

In the next few weeks you will start seeing changes in angelabrook.com and in the way my business is run. Yes I will still be sharing some of those nursing favorite stories and in the mean time I am going to share how I am transitioning from nursing. Nurses have a passion for helping people and many of them have put themselves in a box – that they can only help sick people in a nursing uniform in a hospital. That is not true.

I am going to share that with you and even better yet I am going to show you how.

It has been a great weekend that has taught me more skills to use and business tips to put in place. Thank-you for following in this journey with me. It has been amazing…but it has only just begun.
