Webinar: Want to impact employee performance? Connect with your employees!

This guest post comes from Michael Frisina of The Frisina Group, who shares how influential leadership can be used to improve the performance of your leaders, your people and your organization. Michael is an internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker, and author and we’re pleased to have Michael share his insights on leadership in an upcoming webinar.

In the current economic climate, where every aspect of our professional life seems vulnerable and in a state of flux, a strong connection between leaders and employees is especially necessary. This bond enables the organization to not only rise above its challenges but to thrive toward new heights of performance excellence.

A June 2012 Deloitte survey titled Core Values and Beliefs, indicates that executives are looking for a quick fix to build greater connection with their workforce. Many executives believe an investment in a new social technology will provide them with the answer they seek in building a more collaborative culture.

Employees, on the other hand, take a different view.

The survey found employees value intangibles in the workplace — such as candid communication and direct access to management as critical elements of connection. Executives on the other hand value tangibles — including competitive compensation and financial performance as means to a more productive organization.

On February 27th I’ll be leading a webinar that discusses how leadership behavior drives organizational performance. During the webinar I’ll share how, despite senior leader bias toward the so-called carrot and stick tangibles, connection increases a leader’s influence among followers.

This influence spurs followers to do more. It could be to improve their behavior, develop their skills and talents, work better and harder, seek and participate in collaborations or teams, and achieve greater results.

The ability to connect is one essential domain of influential leadership. Join this webinar to learn more about key leadership behaviors and how they can be used to improve the performance of your leaders, your people and your organization.

Specifically, you’ll learn about:

  • The link between behavior and performance
  • The three essential domains of influential leadership
  • How leaders can strengthen their ability to influence others, help staff successfully work through change, and guide operational improvements
  • Strategies to intentionally and purposefully apply key behaviors that can drive organizational performance

To perform at their best employees must first feel inspired, engaged, and connected to their leader.  If your leadership is all about financial targets, efficiencies, and execution, you may attain successful outcomes but only through the begrudging efforts of your people.

Successful leaders understand the importance of influential leadership – the ability to recognize why people are doing what they are doing and encourage behaviors that can be made more effective to drive performance. These leaders have realized that when people are disconnected from their leaders, performance suffers. Hence, they value and welcome an authentic connection with people.

I invite you to register for this webinar to learn more about how you can use influential leadership to drive organizational performance.
