Using Halogen e360 Multirater for a more robust and objective performance review

Great managers strive to provide unbiased employee performance reviews that are accurate and reflective of their employees’ contribution throughout the year.

But unilateral reviews from managers can be subjective and rarely account for the valuable feedback from others who have observed the employee’s performance.

Many managers simply don’t have the tools necessary to easily solicit this kind of feedback and have it reflected on the performance review.

Halogen e360 Multirater helps managers gather performance feedback about an employee from multiple sources quickly. It can be used to obtain feedback from peers, direct reports, other supervisors, and even external stakeholders to holistically evaluate an employee’s performance.

Rather than relying on the observations and memory of just the employee’s manager, Halogen e360 Multirater provides a more comprehensive and objective view of an employee’s strengths and areas for development.

Using Halogen e360 Multirater, you can capture valuable feedback from multiple sources quickly and easily at any time during an appraisal. Here’s how.

Launching a multirater assessment in Halogen eAppraisal

In this scenario, Bob Keith of Dunrite is launching a multirater assessment for his direct report, Aileen Beets.

As Aileen’s manager, Bob can launch a multirater assessment directly from her performance appraisal:

Bob can then select the criteria for which to evaluate Aileen on, based on her core and job competencies:

Select the reviewers to participate in the multirater assessment

The process can be configured so that either the manager or the employee selects the reviewers. In this case, Bob chooses the employees he wants Aileen to be reviewed by:

Include numeric and/or comment-based ratings

Halogen e360 Multirater supports both numeric and comment-based ratings.  Here, David Foster is doing a multirater assessment for Aileen:

View results and monitor the status of multirater assessments in progress

As multirater evaluations are completed by those people he selected, Bob can view the results and the employee appraisal form simultaneously.  He can also monitor the status of all assessments underway and add new respondents at any time:

Phyllis, a peer who was asked to review Aileen, has not yet completed her evaluation.  Bob can easily send an automatic notification to remind Phyllis to complete it:

View real-time reports

Directly from Aileen’s appraisal form, Bob can view real-time reports including graphical comparisons of individual and group scores as well as anecdotal summaries.

Using this 360 degree feedback, Bob can give Aileen a more well-rounded evaluation that will help her develop and grow in the year ahead. Here are the results of the multisource feedback collected from Aileen’s self-assessment, her peers and her manager:

Provide fair and open evaluations to your employees

360 degree feedback tends to better engage employees in the performance management process and their own development, because they:

  • view the feedback they receive as broader and more objective
  • have a voice in the evaluations of others

Your employees deserve a fair and open evaluation that is fully reflective of their performance throughout the year. With Halogen e360 Multirater, it’s easy.
