The 3 Biggest Reasons to Hold Your Own Live Events

I’ve been holding my own successful live events and workshops for over 6 years, and I’ve found that sharing your message, expertise and passion live and in person is an AMAZING way to serve more people and touch more LIVES.

When you’re up to some big work in the world, sharing your gifts in person and up close is truly magical, and it’s one of my favorite things to do.

Yet, you may feel trepidation if you haven’t held your own event before.

Or, you may already be holding events, but deep down you know it’s time to play bigger.

I get it! I was terrified in the beginning and almost decided I wasn’t “cut out” to do my own events.

I’m so glad I took the plunge, because they have completely transformed my income and my business. Events have brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue for me, and given me the opportunity to work with hundreds of ideal, high-end clients.

Whether you want to hold a 10-person workshop or an event that attracts hundreds… a single evening or an intense 3-day… a free event or a paid one… here are the three biggest reasons to dive in with your own event:

1. Nothing compares to face-to-face.

As much as I adore working from home and mentoring clients from all over the world virtually, getting to meet my community in person is something I truly cherish.

You’ll find that the know, like, and trust factor gets strengthened much faster this way, and being in the same room gives your message and your teachings a lot more impact.

People can see you are real and authentic, and therefore are much more likely to buy from you or hire you once they’ve been able to look at you in the eyes.

2. There are so many ways to monetize them.

From ticket sales, to sponsorship, to vendor tables, to back-end offers or taking a cut of a guest speaker’s product or offer sales, there are a lot of ways to maximize your revenue.

This is a beautiful thing, because it means you don’t have to rely on just one avenue when it comes to profiting from your event.

Plus, as I mentioned above, trust gets built quickly when you are “live,” and this makes it easier to sell even your most high-priced offerings.

3. Your credibility and perceived expertise goes through the roof.

Yes, this happens because you’re sharing your knowledge and how-to’s as the one leading the event. But, you can reap the benefits of exposure beyond just the attendees at the actual event. With social media and video, you can share the experience with prospects and followers across the web.

Be sure to post pics, clips, and other behind the scenes content during AND after the event, so others can see what they are missing. They’ll want to make sure they join you next time!

Three ways I’ve done this that I love are: live-streaming my events, having an assistant live-update social media during the time I’m on stage with highlights from the event, and of course, posting lots of professional pics afterward across all the social media platforms.
