Organization is key to a productive life. People tend to fill their lives with a million different tasks to accomplish in a single day. Getting Things Done or GTD apps help people organize their lives and complete the tasks that lay ahead.
There are many different GTD apps that are available for Android phones. All cell phone plans and phones make downloading apps easy to do for your android phone.
Android phones are typically able to access an Android Market in order to download the apps. How do you decide which task master is right for you?
The following five GTD apps are all good, but each one has its own special features.
Astrid Task is a playful, fun tool for creating your “to do” list. In order to take advantage of this app, you must have an Android 1.6 or higher.
Astrid Task is considered a task manager that is very user-friendly, and costs you nothing to download. You can keep track of all your tasks for the day with this one amazing app.
Assigning priority levels, deadlines and adding notes are all options. You can add fun reminders (that can be repeatable) in order to make sure you don’t miss anything that needs to be done. You can share information from your computer to your app or vice-versa.
Astrid Task can be synced with both Google Tasks and Calendar. There is even voice recognition so you can easily add or organize tasks while on the go. The task manager allows you to set up group events and projects.
Do It Tomorrow
Do It Tomorrow is another great free app for creating a “to do” list. It is available for Androids 2.1 and higher. The app is like having a “to do” notebook right on your cell phone.
Entering information is fast and easy. You can check off tasks that have been completed or delete them entirely. You can reorder existing “to dos” or edit them.
There is free syncing of your “to dos” via cloud synchronization. In addition there are three widgets you can choose from that you can access from your Android Home Page.
The widgets are an in-app purchase. Widget options include: a 1×1 icon widget that shows how many of your tasks are not done yet, and a 3×3 or 4×4 widget that will show you only some of the tasks that have not been completed.
This app varies from the previously mentioned apps by being dependent upon syncing with Google Tasks. It is a beta application for Android users who enjoy utilizing Google Tasks on their computer.
GTasks allows you to look at and sync changes with the tasks you have listed on Google Tasks. You can see the name of your task, notes regarding it and the due date for it.
It is a free app for Android phones 1.5 and up. You must have Google syncing on your phone in order to use it.
Mobisle Notes is an excellent “to do” list and notepad app. It is easy to use when taking notes or making checklists while on the go. You can move items on your checklist.
It features a home screen widget and home screen shortcuts. You can switch from plain text notes to checklists while on the go. It includes reminders and has extensive settings.
It has Google Doc syncing. The app is for Android phones 1.5 and up and currently costs $2.99 at the Android Market.
The final GTD app is Task List. It is a great customizable app filled with different settings. It is available at no cost for Android phones 1.5 and higher. It has the ability to change speech into text. It contains 160 icons.
It allows you to repeat tasks and program task reminders. It contains widgets and supports three different languages (English, German and Spanish).
Actions can be designated to swipe movements or buttons to give you full control of your app. Syncing is limited to only one list, and Task List does contain ads.
If you need to sync more than one list or don’t want to be bothered with ads, you may want Task List-ToDo List Pro instead.
All five GTD are good apps that will help you to organize your life. Downloading apps is easy with all cell phone plans and phones. The more organized you are, the smoother your life will run. Why not try one of these apps in order to simply your life a little?
