One Bite at a Time!

I have never understood why anyone would want to eat an elephant, however, apparently the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.

I know this is an analogy for the best way to tackle a big task, project or goal–to chunk it into small pieces and accomplish it over time.

If we want to continue with analogies…

I think most corporate learning is similar to watching a python swallow a pig.

Yes, they can get it down, but it is way too much, way too fast.

The right way to eat an elephant is the right way to create massive and sustainable learning and cultural change.

Small chunks layered in over time, with reinforcement and contextualization in between the bites.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again:

Repetition is truly the mother of all learning and the life force for positive change.
