Nudity On The iOS Platform?

What would (Steve) Jobs do?

Hugh Hefner recently tweeted that Playboy Magazine would become available on the ipad. Uncensored.

But will Apple allow it? You can currently download a Playboy app for $0.99. However, the asterisk reads, *This app does NOT contain any nude content.

Jobs previously made it pretty clear where he stands on inudity:

“You know, there’s a porn store for Android,” Jobs said. “You can
download nothing but porn. You can download porn, your kids can download
porn. That’s a place we don’t want to go, so we’re not going to go

So, did Hef make Jobs change his mind? From Mashable:

Allowing full frontal nudity on the iPad would definitely blur the line
between innocuous adult entertainment and pornography; we’ll have to
wait and see how Apple feels about Playboy‘s plans.

Will Apple start allowing adult content apps? My guess is no. Playboy will probably be an exception.

But it’s an interesting, long existing conflict: sex sells vs. values. If you were Steve Jobs, how would you decide?
