Loyal readers, Life just changed.

I hope that the New Year has been good so far for you. I know that my blog have not been updated in a while. What can I say? Well I have been busy. I quit my last job in telecom and found a new and exciting job; I will tell you more about it. I have moved from the south of Norway to the Midwest part of Norway, closer to my childhood home. I live in a postcard, the nature here is amazing with mountains rising high in all directions. I live in a small valley at the end of a fjord. I have still not moved my camera, so pictures will be provided later on.

My new job at Wenaas

Wenaas logoWenaas is a strong brand in work wear and safety gear with last year sales around 137 million dollars. Wenaas is a part of the Kwintet Group, the number one supplier of high-quality professional wear for all purposes and industries with a 940 million dollar annual turnover. First of all this is a huge change in products, a transaction from telecom to work wear, textiles and clothing. But I am not hired as a textiles expert, which would be a bad call. I am hired as leader of national customer services. My job is to create the best customer service in Norway. This will be a great challenge with high demanding customers that have great expectations. There is no longer a quick fix in restarting computer equipment. There are massive production lines and logistics. There are a dozen Wenaas-stores and there is a lot of customer interaction. Wenaas has a long history. The company has been around for almost a century. This is a traditional manufacturing plant, focus on products and sales. My challenge is to make a transition to a more customer service oriented view. The good news, Wenaaas has muscle and power to create the best customer support, and I am happy to be a member of the team.

Motivational Speaker

Call-Center-Dagene-20111_microsite_mediaboxThe next change in my life is that I am going to make my debut as a public speaker at a call center conference in May 2011 in Oslo. (http://www.callcenterdagene.no/) – The speech will be in Norwegian and I am going to talk about:

  • How to find out what’s increasing motivation among different employees
  • How a simple, systematic approach yields benefits
  • How your leadership style affect your employees motivation and engagement
  • How to change focus from frustration to motivation.

This conference is the largest of its kind in Scandinavia and I am thrilled to get this opportunity. If you are interested in attending, check out http://www.callcenterdagene.no/
I am not still settled 100 % into my new daily routines, but I will try to get productive with my blog on a weekly basis.

Where I live and work. I live about 2 km up the valley. As I was saying. I had to move to get my new job. I will finish this post by bringing you a picture of my new home.

I live about 2km up the valley. This is a small place with about 800 people. I love it here. Is it any wonder?

I wish you a great day!
