Over the course of a good few months, like you I have read a good number of books on the subject of social media, social networking and business in general, from a wide range of thought leaders in the sectors concerned. For me, there is a quote from over 100 years ago that is perfect when I am talking to companies about whether (or when) they should initiate a social recruiting strategy.
It does not need any explanation:
“It is not the strongest of our species who survives, or the most intelligent, but the one who is most responsive to change”
This of course, came from Charles Darwin.
It is so true, and we have already seen the results of many companies unfortunately not responding to change in our industry. The recruitment advertising agencies chose not to change, figuring that they could carry on doing what they had been doing the years. However, due to a combination of the recession and the explosion of social media last year that lack of change cost many of these companies, large and small, their business.
So, is your business listening to Charles Darwin? Are you ready to make the step into the inevitable path of social recruiting? Or, are you just can stick your head in the sand and hope it never happens to you?
Remember the dinosaurs?
