I spent five days cleaning out my gut wagon

Nurses are in a profession of taking care of others, and it is proven they take care of themselves last. Years ago I was an exercise NUT. I never missed a work out and I ate only healthy choices. I ran – I was in the gym 3-4 days a week. I was in shape!

Then I had my oldest son and ran in a 10K race when he was 3 months old pushing him in a running stroller after a c-section. The gym work outs continued.

Baby #2 came along and I am not blaming my sweet boy but two boys – working 13 hour night shift on 2-4 hours a sleep pushed the gym out of sight.

Time for a change.

This time last week I finished a 5 day cleanse. My body was telling me it felt YUK on the inside and I wanted to stop feeling bloated – full – low energy and blah. I knew I was toxic – I could feel it.

Now don’t panic I am not going to give you details of what happen during the cleanse – but I will say Day #1 was pure hell. I knew it would be for me, because I am a caffeine-aholic. I start the day with coffee (just one cup) and drink a 32oz of water and at lunch like clockwork I head to sonic for a large un-sweet tea.

That doesn’t sound bad but it is a caffeine start for the day. (I am not a morning person I worked night shift for 21.5 years)

Day #1 – At 5 am – I started the morning with balance complete almond milk shake with 2 oz of NingXia red. At 9AM – I had the scheduled snack of a piece fruit when the low grade headache started.
I had my peppermint ready but I didn’t use it soon enough. I did everything but start sprinkling it all over me. I could feel the sick coming on. Nauseated, Throbbing headache, I had to leave work. The 40 minute drive home was interesting to say the least. I was doing my best to not pull over on the side of the road and hurl! I hit the couch and did not move for a three hours nap. I woke up feeling human again. I  stayed the course on the cleanse – even I was proud of me.

Day#2 –  I woke up feeling much better. I drank a Balance complete almond milk shake with 2 oz NingXia red and headed to work. I had a slight headache by 8:30AM – but this time the peppermint was close to me and it was stopped in it’s tracks. I had my snack, balance complete shake at lunch, and dinner. I felt pretty darn good.

Day #3 – I woke up feeling good. My body felt light, no headache and no coffee for two days! I drank my three shakes the scheduled snacks. I was not even hungry.

Day#4 – was much easier and I liked the routine – not that I planned on drinking three shakes a day forever, but I will continue to drink my morning balanced almond milk shake for breakfast.

Day #5 I had to celebrate I did it!! I could tell the foods I had removed from my system for the week didn’t need to go back in.

Day #1 the first day since the “5 day of cleanse” I wanted to have that morning coffee and brewed a cup. Looking forward to that warm sip …. and it tasted….ugh. Funny! What ? Are you serious? I was able to choke down 1/2 cup and poured it out.

Later in the afternoon I needed to take my Chlorella and ask my son who had a diet Dr Pepper for a sip to get them down. (my carbonation of choice) tasted like funky syrup.

That was enough for me… my body was telling me… this stuff is not good for me. Please don’t add that back in. I haven’t…over a week later and I have not even thought about it.

Oh and the best part – I lost 6lbs!!

If you are like me and stay on the go and forget to take your body seriously when it talks to you. Listen to nurse Angela’s experience and give it a break for just five days.  You will be amazed what 5 day break for your gut will do for you since the gut is where most of our disease begins. It starts by what you put in it.

Someone ask me how much it cost to get started, and I look at the price like this… if you do not take your health serious and you begin to have problems that could be prevented You will land in a doctor office, ER visit or hospital stay by far will exceed the cost of your 5 days to spend cleaning out the gut wagon.

Just my opinion… and that my folks is free. Get started right here…. Click
