The art of Feng Shui involves the placement and layout of furniture and objects to achieve a harmonious flow of energy.

It is believed by those who practice it that it can bring happiness, prosperity, wealth, and health to a person who follows it. A house or even an office can stay in harmony and the people who use that space will be happier.

Of course, not everyone believes this. There are many different opinions on the subject. If you are willing to use Feng Shui to set yourself up for success, you can certainly do that. It’s definitely worth a try.

Placing Your Furniture for Optimum Energy Flow

When you start placing your furniture in a home or an office, don’t do things that block the free flow of energy. For example, placing your desk into a corner where your back is to the door wouldn’t be a good choice.

You’ll want to face the room and the door, so you can see the people coming and going, and so the energy can flow around you. For this reason, an office with cubicles can sometimes present problems.

They block the flow of energy that moves through the building. If your office can be re-arranged to allow for a more open layout, that would be better for harmony and success.

How you place the furniture in your house can also be very important. A lot of people have big, bulky furniture that blocks a space.

They’re always walking around it to get where they’re going. You don’t have to do that. With some simple re-arranging you can make your space more open. Pay attention to which way things are facing, too. When you sleep at night, which way is your head pointing?

Depending on what you want in life and how you want to feel, you may consider re-arranging your bedroom so that your head points in the direction of your desires.

What About Smaller Items?

Smaller items can be easier because they don’t break up the flow as much. Still, cluttering up your house isn’t a very good idea. You’ll want to decorate with things that bring you peace and harmony, not just a lot of dust collectors that get in the way. When you’re decorating, consider:

  • Natural plants or grasses
  • Running water in the form of a free-standing or wall-mounted fountain
  • Items that have a lot of personal meaning, such as pictures
  • Artwork that invokes peace and harmony

There are many ways to use Feng Shui, and success is only one of them. What kind of success you’re looking for matters, too. It’s not all financial, of course. You can have success in your relationships and in your health, as well. By using Feng Shui you can adjust your home and office to a level that makes you feel good.

When the energy flow is right, you’ll feel it if you take the time to pay attention. If something feels out-of-place, it is. Move it until it feels harmonious and happy. Then you’ll feel that way.
