How Can Grown-ups Learn and Apply Design Thinking?

In my last post, I talked about Tim Brown‘s book Change by Design and asked if design thinking can help global corporations integrate Purpose, Participation and Profits.

Here is a video of Geroge Kembel talking about how Stanford’s is using design thinking to awaken the latent creativity of graduate students, K-12 teachers and business professionals.

When asked how grown-ups can learn and apply design thinking, George Kembel had a simple advice. When you are trying to solve a problem, instead of trying to analytically think through it, try talking to others (gaining empathy by observing) or doing things (quickly iterating by building prototypes).

So, I’m thinking now: who can I talk to, and what can I build?
