GPA on a Resume?

Dear Debra:

I had a 3.95 GPA for my undergraduate degree in Economics, but only a 3.3 GPA for MBA.  I read that recent graduates should show GPAs, but only if they are high.  What do I do if one is high and one is on the low end?  Both are from the same school, Univ. of NE.

Thanks for your advice!

Regards, Silvana

Dear Silvana:

Thank you for bringing up an excellent topic.  Congratulations on your new MBA!

On a resume we show our top skills and achievements.  I recommend that recent grads only show GPAs if they are higher than 3.5 or higher for all degrees earned.    I would recommend that you identify other top achievements from your academic and professional career.  For example, maybe you led student projects, published papers, or earned awards. If you have questions about other accomplishments to show, please write me.

All the best!

Deb
