Concise take on using informal learning for profitability

Eavesdrop on a concentrated telephone interview avec moi on how to leverage the informal to improve business results. Thirteen minutes long, and you can bail after five.

Paris-based Marc Tirel interviewed me on Skype. He made this recording and shared it in a private session with management of a major bank in France.

Marc’s a pal. All we did was hit the recording button on Skype and have at it. As you can see, it’s conversational. The software costs nothing. I address a management meeting for a quarter hour from my hotel room in Rio and I’m done. The bankers in Paris got the message without the expense of having me drop by in person.* Marc weaves my remarks into a targeted on-site discussion about making this work in the bank.

Organizations that fail to take advantage of free technology like Skype and YouTube are leaving beaucoup money on the table.

*When I do a gig like this in person, we’d spend a whole lot more time together, we’d deep dive, we’d wrap some project name around it. I would need an apartment for a week in Paris. My fee would be $16,000+. Most of the week I would be wandering the City of Lights and overeating, but we’d get in a number of working sessions. It’s worth it: I can show the ROI. But listen to the interview before calling me to set something up.
