Building talent communities using social media channels

While grabbing a sandwich yesterday, I was doing my usual and reading an array of excellent blogs in my reader. I came across this excellent post by the ‘legend’ that is Gautam Ghosh. He has put together an excellent presentation explaining the need to solve your future recruitment needs, by starting to build a talent community strategy

I do disagree with one thing he says in the post – recruiters and hiring managers will move more and more into “community

manager” roles and need to build and take on newer skills to augment

their existing skill sets.

I agree with the concept, but we are a few years away  from that in the UK – blimey we still can’t get recruiters to master the basic recruiting skills!! 🙂

I like this slide (36) as Gautam shares his ideal architecture for building successful talent communities:

What do you think? Is it a utopian view or do you think it has some legs?
