You can find out more about Riley and his “8:55 Train” journey at the end of this post…
Unlike the groundhog this year I did not see my shadow…at least not as much of it as I have in the past. The overall numbers to date give me so much hope for this Spring and for the rest of my life. Since starting this exciting and invigorating transformation I have lost 45 pounds, and 10% of my overall body fat. Not only does the energy I find myself having an ecstatic experience, but its mine! I feel like I did when I first started taking workout supplements but it’s all the time. This gives me so much excitement that I may just become what I set out to be… alive.
The Spring air is beginning to some down from the mountains as the rains bring new life to our part of the world once again. The doubts I once had about my ability to commit to such a life altering change seem to be transforming into determination. Determination to not only drive new life into my own body but to those around me.
The TSheets team has been a rock for me to lean on when I am struggling to resist the most delicious and also most fattening foods I miss so much. To borrow a phrase from one of my amazing friends and co-workers Shayna, “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” Because of the team effort, I find myself discovering even more amazing determination from those I call my work family and friends. Not only do they support me in my journey, but they have been setting their own weekly goals to push themselves as well.
I feel like they have embraced me as a long lost friend who needs their help without asking who I am or what I needed help with. Such unbridled passion and friendship from those you work with seems so rare these days that I always find myself lucky to be a part of this team every time I feel I can’t lift that next weight.
The rules have changed since last we met, the Level 2 has been a success in that my body fat percentage has dropped by my overall weight loss has slowed. Though the weight loss has slowed I take this not as bad news, but as a sign I am on the right track. My body is destroying the fat with heavier muscle that will need more energy to sustain them, and I have found that energy from a continued course of balanced meals. They say Spring comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb. I have decided I will adopt the lion mentality into Spring and throughout the Summer, to allow myself to become a physical model of health and fitness. It appears the tracks on the TSheets train have taken us into a Safari of sorts. Hopefully on this Safari I will prove that I am able to stand among the lions and become my own King of the Jungle.
About the 8:55 Train Blog Series: This blog post, and the rest you’ll see in the 8:55 Train series, are not “typical” in that you wouldn’t expect to read a journey to better personal health in a time tracking blog. But like so many experiences, they resonate with all of us in one way or another – whether personally or professionally. Meet Riley – a TSheets employee who struggles with his weight and with the help and generosity from BodyBuilding.com, Idaho Athletic Club, and TSheets is on a journey he wants to share with the world.
