8 Practical Ways to Tame Your Inner Fear Gremlin
This week’s video tip is all about how to tame your “fear gremlin“…something that creeps up on entrepreneurs all too often!
See, some of the biggest enemies of an entrepreneur–procrastination, laziness and self-created obstacles–can actually all be results of negative thought patterns. (AKA, fear in disguise!)
I call it your “inner gremlin.”
That gremlin loves to use fear to keep you safe…but also to keep you small. That might make sense if there is something life-threatening that it wants you to stay away from–for example, like when it tells you not to touch a hot stove.
But in business?
It’s a killer.
Your inner gremlin creates fear to keep you within your comfort zone–which often results in you creating excuses in order to stay “safe” and avoid perceived pain.
However, when you want to make a big change in your business or income, in most cases you must streeeetch beyond your comfort zone.
It’s about getting comfortable being uncomfortable…and I myself have had to do this many times in order to grow (I still do).
The thing is, successful people are different–it’s not that they don’t experience fear–it’s that they feel the fear and do it anyway.
Action mitigates fear, and when you face it, it dissolves. (Plus, it’s often not nearly as bad as you thought it would be! Phew…)
Oh, and by the way, if you aren’t feeling at least a tiny bit afraid, you’re not playing big enough
