6 Secrets to a Successful Facebook Real Estate (or any small business) Page

For Real Estate Agents, effectively using Facebook marketing can be a challenge.

Facebook has the power to transform your business. When used successfully, Facebook can take your business from obtuse and obsolete to informative, enlightening and highly regarded.

Yet Facebook marketing remains an extremely under-utilized tool within the real estate community.

However, as the industry continues to evolve and adjust to the ever-growing needs of today’s savvy online consumer, can you afford to sit on the sidelines?

If you are eager to make the most of this social channel, implementing the 6 success secrets below will help you to creatively and effectively use  Facebook to market your business!

6 Facebook Success Secrets

  1. Claim a Vanity URL

A Facebook vanity URL is a custom address that represents your business or product.  There are two reasons you want to claim your unique Facebook web address:

Both provide an easy way for past and potential customers to find your page. To make your URL unique, choose one based on company name or keywords that correspond to your local market or specialized niche.

  2. Set Up Your Business Page Correctly

Facebook offers personal profiles and business pages; both of which have very specific uses and guidelines. A personal profile is for personal reasons only and should not be used for business purposes. Failure to set up your business page properly could result in Facebook shutting it down without warning or explanation.

Among the many benefits to a business page are increased visibility and improved credibility as you provide a space where past and current clients can interact and participate in a community committed to meeting their needs.

  3. Give Your Fans The Content They Crave

While much has been written about increasing Facebook page engagement, one basic fundamental to your page’s success will always stand. Providing valuable content to a group of eager and hungry fans will boost conversation and amplify your page’s virility.

Consistently analyze your Facebook analytics to assess what content resonates with your fans and how you can best provide it. Do pictures, videos or links perform better? Adjust your strategy and your content when appropriate to keep your page fresh and your information pertinent.

  4. Connect Your Online and Offline Marketing

Do you have an email list or database that you have successfully grown throughout your career? If so, make sure to send an announcement about your Facebook page asking them to join the community.

You will also want to add a link to your Facebook page on any outgoing email correspondence along with a simple call to action.  Don’t forget to give them a reason to click through and LIKE your page!

  5. Give Away Valuable Information

The single most effective way to build loyalty and trust is by sharing valuable and useful information with no strings attached.

Make use of your expertise by giving away a series of useful tips pertaining to your niche or community. This is much appreciated information that many people will want to follow and share.

Fluff is nice, but information that can be used to save money, make money, and win in negotiations will keep your audience tuned in and coming back for more.

Always keep in mind, you must commit daily to converting your fans from casual lurkers to active and engaged fans that feel a sense of loyalty to you and your personal brand.

  6. Create Consistency in Your Daily Actions

Facebook marketing can be challenging due to its magnitude and intricacies. Maintaining a consistent presence while juggling other responsibilities can only be achieved by creating a consistent flow to your daily actions.

Utilize tools such as Hootsuite, Tweetdeck and Bufferapp to schedule Facebook posts ahead of time. The idea is to maximize both your time and money. You can stay in front of your fans without falling behind on your other duties and responsibilities.

Remember, building a presence on Facebook is a process and will not happen overnight. By understanding the needs of your fans and designing a strategic plan to grow your page, you open the door to new opportunities and a much brighter future.

Which idea will you implement today?
