Everything we experience in the world is a reflection of our thoughts. If you feel shame about celebrating money, you can’t expect money to celebrate you. -Marianne Williamson
We all carry a money story and it affects us every day, whether we’re aware of it or not.
We get programmed early in life: what our parents said about money and wealthy people while we were growing up, what our friends’ opinions were, our own personal experiences… even the messages in TV shows and movies help form our opinions.
An offhand comment from a client, an uncle, our sixth grade teacher.
This shapes us.
A baby doesn’t come out of the womb with its opinions on money already fully formed.
That baby gets programmed.
Make no mistake, that programming affects everything–from our confidence around talking about money, to our income level, to how much debt we’re carrying.
The good news is we can “unlearn” what we’ve picked up, and drop the money story that’s not serving us.
In this week’s video, I’m sharing 4 key steps for doing this.
Let’s write a new story, shall we?
Once you’ve watched, I’d love to know: how has your personal money story affected you?
