For the 4th year in a row, here’s the best list you can find online of current listings if you want to intern somewhere in Israel this year.

Many of the listings are aimed at students and graduates abroad, but there are many that are open to Israelis as well.

Each internship description below is more or less quoted from the source.

Except where noted, all the internships have fees of some sort, such as an application processing fee, and Masa Israel grants can make the fees easier to handle where noted.

Any fees listed are in US dollars.

Summer 2014 internships

WUJS Israel – “a 5 month post college program that offers the ultimate Israel experience for Jewish young adults from around the world. The program is based in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. WUJS Israel allows you the opportunity to intern with one of Israel’s leading companies or NGOs, or develop your artistic talent, while studying Hebrew and more. WUJS Israel will also help in your Aliyah process as part of its curriculum.” ($100 non-refundable application fee paid upon submission of your application to WUJS Israel. Career Israel Summer Track – “You will intern 25-30 hours each week at your internship, and you will still get to travel and see parts of Israel you have never experienced. (No application deadline specified, but the Summer Internship for 2014 will take place from February 13, 2014 – July 10, 2014 and September 4, 2014 – January 29, 2015, $50 application fee)

Yavneh Olami’s Summer Internship Program (SIP) – “open to students who have completed at least 1 full year of university …enables students and recent graduates from all over the world to intern in their fields of interest in Israel within a social and educational environment.” (No application deadline specified, but the Summer Internship for 2014 will take place from June 26 – August 11. Total Fee: $1500)

The Arnie Silverman Internship Program – “The Arnie Silverman Internship Program is the law student internship of a lifetime.” Students from all around the world will spend the summer in Israel working with Shurat HaDin lawyers in their Tel-Aviv office. To apply via email: [email protected]

Onward Israel Tech Challenge – “… is the perfect resume builder program for talented tech students who want to intern in high-level companies and experience the unique Israeli hi-tech scene firsthand.” (Rolling admission by February 15. Internship runs from July 1 – August 26, 2014.Total Cost: $400)

Brenden Mann Israel Internship Program – “The Brenden Mann Israel Internship Program provides students with unparalleled professional summer internship opportunities in a country of vibrant life, multifaceted communities, and sweeping entrepreneurship.” (Now accepting applications for Summer 2014. Total Fees: $3,200.)

Summer Science Research Internships for Yeshiva University Students at Bar-Ilan University – “The BIU-YU Summer Science Research Internship program places select undergraduates from Yeshiva College and Stern College in one of the state-of-the-art research laboratories of Bar-Ilan’s Life Science, Exact Science, or Engineering Faculties. It enables talented undergraduate science majors to take part in the research of one of Bar-Ilan’s more than 180 distinguished science and engineering faculty members.” (The program begins Monday June 23, 2014 and ends Monday Aug 11, 2014, The application deadline is Friday February 14, 2014.)

FFIP-Netherlands Summer Internship – “Would you like to become active in an international educational network of students promoting human rights in the Middle East? Would you like to learn more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and obtain a perspective that goes beyond the media stories? Israel Way Tel Aviv Internship Experience – Live in the heart of Tel Aviv, walking distance from the beach, while exposing yourself to new career opportunities in any field. Open to anyone between the ages of 18-34. Masa grants available.

Israel Way Short-Term & Summer Internship – Internships are available throughout central areas of Israel, in every field. Minimum time commitment of two months or longer. Additional services are available: accommodations, Hebrew Ulpan, trips, and more.

Israel Hotel & Hospitality Internship – A professional 5 month hotel and hospitality internship experience in Israel’s resort town – Eilat. Rotate between entry level positions and become a certified bartender. Internship includes housing, stipend, meals, medical insurance, and more! Masa grants available.

World Likud Internship Program – “open to young Likud supporters from around the world… the opportunity for young bright minds to actively participate in various activities of the Likud Party in Israel.”

JCPA Internship Program – “The Jerusalem Center is a growing and evolving institution and intern research assistants are important to this development. Interns bring their own expertise and insight to the research, providing the center with a valuable resource.” (NO FEES)

Intel Internships – for “bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral students in engineering, science, and business-related fields.” (NO FEES, PAID). If you can read Hebrew, there are more opportunities on their Students site.

Google Software Engineering Student Internships – you qualify if you are… “currently pursuing a BS, MS or PhD in computer science or a related technical field. Typically within 12-18 months of completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or at any stage in your PhD.” (NO FEES)

OnTarget Communications Technical Writing Internship Program – “geared towards individuals who want to embark on a career as a technical writer.” (NO FEES)

MISTI MIT-Israel Internships – For MIT students and graduates. “Three-month summer internships (June-August) or longer internships (after graduation or while enrolled in a Ph.D. program) in dozens of corporations and research institutions across Israel.”

Gvahim Young Leaders – Internship Program – applicants should be at least 21 years old and have studied at least 3 years. Participants all get free Hebrew classes and events “such as meeting with Israeli leaders or visiting successful companies.” There are 4 sessions each year (beginning Jan.1st, March 1st, June 1st and Sept.1st) so apply asap to get in to the next one. Israel Government Fellows Internship Program – for fluent English speakers between 22-30 years old who have a Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum 2 years work experience OR a Master’s Degree. “Fellows are placed in positions of genuine responsibility working with senior figures in the Israeli government and will be placed in accordance with their skills and interests as well as with manpower needs of the government.” (accepting applications for their 9th session: September 02 2014- June 25 2015) Masa grants are applicable.

Israel Government Fellows Internship Program – for fluent English speakers between 22-30 years old who have a Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum 2 years work experience OR a Master’s Degree. “Fellows are placed in positions of genuine responsibility working with senior figures in the Israeli government and will be placed in accordance with their skills and interests as well as with manpower needs of the government.” (accepting applications for their 9th session: September 02 2014- June 25 2015) Masa grants are applicable.

Jinternship.com – Internships with Jerusalem-based companies in every field for Jewish college students who want a unique opportunity to intern in Israel and explore their Jewish heritage. Costs range from $350 up, depending on the length of the program.
